Shop around (wreckers) for an old MQ ute back and use the back of it or use 1.2mm flat sheet and build a frame out of box. Or try nissan for a ute back.

No offense mate,

Half these fab guys arent web wheelers, hence them not returning emails

If you want something done, best you call them..

And yeah i know your from NZ, but people just dont email in this industry.

No offenc taken mate

Its not only the location thats a problem, I am totally deaf so rely on email

I have emailed two other companies and they were prompt in reply, just wanted to get a reply from ontrack to make my final decision, seen pictures of a GU the did back in 2007 and I thought it looked great.

I guess if you run a web site, its best not to show a contact email address if your going to ignore potential customers. Just give a phone number

Johno, I agree. Every 4wd/Fab shop I have ever been to has had some sort of computer. How hard is it to make it check email every 5mins.

As I said in some one elses thread make sure you get a time line put into what every quote you get. I have seen cars sit in these places for ages being half done.

Was'nt a ute back I was after mate, I wanted them to do a complete extra cab job. They advertise on there web site that they do all this custom stuff. 3 emails now and no reply, they can get stuffed for mine, they must have plenty of work on if they arnt interested. They know I was'nt tyre kicking because explained that the vehicle had been purchased and would be delivered pending the quote.

I'll deal with the other two companies who replied when I come over in a few weeks

johno,
Its a bit of topic here,
BUT
When i looked into my extra cab conversion
People either charged way to much (large firms)
OR
Dont do them anymore
Dont get dishearted by this, when you finally get over to aussie land
Deal with it all then
There does seem to be alot of back yarders who supposadly do them for alot less then the larger firms
But thats you call
Your not the first to be put of by these conversions
There does seem to be a few 2nd hand extra cabs for sale of late
