so before some one says have i searched yes i have ..... so just got back from a top weekend and 5th gear has gone, 01 st patrol ute. read the other older threads on this did nissan do a recall? on the box to fix it or am i on my own, and if so im assuming new main shaft and fith gear plus bearings?. Plus anyone know of best place to get the newer better built gear and shaft?

Your local nissan dealer. And if you tell them that you always get it seviced here etc, etc, they will give it to you for trade which was $379.00 for me. I didn't replace bearings, but it's better if you do especially if you have clocked up lots of kays.
