RN46 suspension

I don't want to open a can of worms, just looking for advice.

I am helping a dude put together an RN46 Lux, 22R engine, on 33s, steel tray and steel winch bar.

He asked me to see what suspension system might be best fitted to attain some better than standard flex. This is stage 1 of his car if you like, so nothing too radical yet, just more flex.

Preferably an off the shelf system, OME has been offered but no consultation was offered with the kit just "this is what you need for that model Lux"

So what system would make the Lux a little more flexy and actually feel like it has suspension instead of the axles just welded to the chassis.

ok all i have in my RN46 is standard leaves all round i have snake racing extended shackles in the front round $200-$250 in the rear i have climax drop shackles they were $400 odd dollars cant remember exact also running 60 series stnd height shocks in the front but there maxing out aswell and im running procomp ES9000 shocks in the rear with triangulated mounting kit heres pics of the flex i am gettin with this setup and 35's hope this helps

So what's the budget?

I don't know much about 'off the shelf' kits, but for decent reliable flex, the push-pull steering and stock shocks have to go.

Can he stretch it to histeer, RUF and longer rears or a moved rear mount?

Concerned about legalities?

HiLux 4X4, that looks sweet, how many leaves are in your standard springs and I would gather most of the flex comes from the shackles and shocks?????



Yamaha, budget is basic about $1800 including fitting, which probably buys a fair amount of flex if you know what to buy.


I would be happy to put some decent springs (not load carrying) on standard shackles to start then offer him aftermarket shackles.

It needs to pass a Vic roadworthy on 31s first, then it can be modified more.

You should consider installing it yourself. Pretty simple really. Then you'll have the full $1800 to buy parts. Instead of $1000.

That's the plan, I just don't know what works in these vehicles.

cheers mate umm front springs are 5 leaf and rear is 6 but before that i was running standard leaves again with 4 front n 5 rear and they were saggy springs so they wworkd quit well untill i snappd 1 lol just proves they dont like jumping lol and yeah id say thats true as im maxing out in the front because of the shocks if i get longer it would have more flex
