Driveline lift help/info

Post by justinshere »

Hey
Looking into lifting the Tcase up so that I can get a flat belly in my lux.
At the moment I'm using snakes 40mm engine lift and a custom xmember, but I still have about 70mm hanging down under the chassis rails.
I realise that I'd have to cut out the tunnel to lift it that high.

Now how do ppl deal with the engine mounts? Do you have to cut em off n weld in taller ones? If so ill remove the snake engine lift.
Also does it create other problems lifting engine that much? Hitting on bonnet, radiator hoses, cooling problems with the fan not aligning with radiator?
Or...
Can I just lift up the Tcase? It would put a lot of stress on the end mounts/studs and would it create a problem with the driveline leaning down at the front?
ANY info or help would be appreciated.
Pics pics pics... Post up please!

Cheers Justin

the more you lift the gearbox, the greater the tailshaft angles will be putting more stress on your uni's.
Do you have a bodylift in your lux?

Not to worried about the angles, I run a double cardon on the rear so that's sorted.

Has a 40mm body lift at the moment. Not fussed if it stays or goes but I will go up to 50mm if needed, no more though

I've got no engine lift and I just let mine twist on the rubber mount. To do it right, you should cut back the welds on the mounts and weld them back on after the gearbox lift has been done.
