logan city council had a promotion to curb car theft
& gave away vouchers for a fully installed immoboliser
my one was fitted yesterday to my turbo deisel 80 series
it took em 3 hrs + to fit. well today i drove to work
checked car around 5pm & car had no power at all,
but battery was fine.
the b+ fuse in mains power box under bonnet
has a melted fuse in it & the main power supply off battery was fried apart.
the installer said that he intergrated the immobiliser
into turbo timer could this have been the cause?
i have owned this car for 3 years &
have never had this happen before.

It certainly is a very effective immobiliser!!
Depends on where your turbo timer picked up its power.
Seems odd that the whole car would be dead unless the company connected it up this way for some reason. I would have thought a smaller type fuse.
Have a close look at the wiring installation ( usually all black wiring) and see where it is connected into. This would be a place to start

thanks for the replys guys heres is an update after seein my leco.
the fusable link from start batt broke which means a major short
the 25a fuse in acc box melted from overload,
this was the explanation from my auto leco
wether or not the immobo instaler caused it to fark up
is hard to determine with out alot of time (cash spent) to investigate
he said it certainly is sus probably highly unlikely.
i just found it sus that the turbo timer does not work anymore
i rarely used any way (but not the point).
anyway hows $40 cash sound to fix the farked bits reasonable
or a bit dear
hes gonna sort it on monday for the meantime
ive got a 35a fuse on the main power to get the car drivable
hopefully no more drama

If you can get the auto elec to do anything at all for $40 cash then you are doing pretty well I reckon!azwa wrote:thanks for the replys guys heres is an update after seein my leco.

Minimise use of the car with the bigger fuse on it. ie try not to drive it at all, except to get it to the auto elec on Monday.
This is not legal advice.
X2. If the old one smoked up and you havent found a reason, then there is the possibility of a re-occurance, and now you have a bigger fuse, could be bigger smoke!chimpboy wrote:If you can get the auto elec to do anything at all for $40 cash then you are doing pretty well I reckon!azwa wrote:thanks for the replys guys heres is an update after seein my leco.

for any heat & shes all cool.
