whats going on with my feed pump?

Post by paul.b »

the feed pump on my 2h is blowing pressure backwards, not sucking. so when i bleed it, it will run for a minute then die. i put a hose from the intake side of the pump to a bottle of diesel to see and when i started it, it was blowing bubbles instead of sucking fuel in???

why????????

I would say its sucking air, and the test on page 2 of the scanned manual should confirm this.
See if Toyota or Terrain Tamer do a rebuild kit for it, or grab another one.

Hello, I had the same problem, it was a crook hose between the injector return pipe to the lift pump banjo, it is a small rubber hose, about 4 inches long, they wont leak fuel but will introduce air into the system, hope this helps you.
