i know its a stupid question but do turbo wastegate actuators do they work on boost or vacuum to operate???

mate look at this thread i did might help you out

remember when you are setting the actuator up it only needs to open the wastegate up a little maybe 2mm at most.

There are vacuum operated wastegates, but they're only found on computer controlled engines. The vacuum actuator lets the computer drop boost completely if it wants.
Pretty much all variable vane turbos have vacuum actuators.
