80 series hubs to longfield drive flanges

Post by DIRTY ROCK STAR »

Im having issues trying to fit the lonfield HD drive flanges i got to the standard toyota hubs from 80 series full time diffs?
Anyone got any tips?

The hubs arent circular?
The drive flanges will fit but i would only be able to get 2 dowels in, which kind of defeats the purpose of the longfield drive flanges (they have 6 dowels).

Any help would be appreciated.
Have i got the wrong flanges? need new hubs?

Cheers

weird...

Don't spose its something silly like your 180 deg out?

I know you can fit standard locking hubs to a previously full time housing.

OK,

What you see above is the longfield drive flange on the bottom.
The standard flange toyota on the top.
the toyota hub matches the drive flange profile (not circular around the edges), so the longfield when installed wouldnt have all of the dowels inserted as there is not enough meat in some places.

Wondering what others have done to get around this issue?
Seems silly to install longfield drive flange with only 2 dowels used instead of all 6.

Cheers
