4.7s on 35 inch pedes

4.7s on 35 inch pedes
Hey all, i know most people run 4.11's but i was wondering if anyone runs 4.7s, im trying to decide which way to go as i don't want to go down the engine transfer way, but the old two door on 35's could use a little help. And as the car is a toolangi tracktor i'm not concerned as i don't do very long drives.
Cheers!
Cheers!
Re: 4.7s on 35 inch pedes
Do you mean stock 4.7 gears?
If so, then no. They are terribly weak and will probably implode at the first sight of a tyre bigger than 29".

Re: 4.7s on 35 inch pedes

Re: 4.7s on 35 inch pedes
Cheers matt, but wondering why you have not used them? why did you opt for them instead of 4.7s
Re: 4.7s on 35 inch pedes
I run lr 4.7's with 35 mtr's with detroit in the rear and a tru-trac in the front thats been been pegged . 5 speed manual revs just over 3000 at 100 k
Re: 4.7s on 35 inch pedes
excellent idea !tronka-truck wrote:or go through dave ashcroft...
I am very keen to get these to the Australian market and as such will better any KAM price, these are also stronger gears because of the helix angle and material,

Re: 4.7s on 35 inch pedes
i got the 4.11's to put under my rangie with 33's, some people say the 4.11's match 33's gearing, others say 35's
right now i dont have the spare time or money to set these into my car, if i were to, i would look into pegging the diffs, but no idea how much it would cost,
so therefore im leaving my standard gearing setup leaving me the option to run some 32' A/T on the road
the 4.11's are new still in boxes if interested

Re: 4.7s on 35 inch pedes
hey dave not interested in your diff gears (done a toyo swap) but i'll happily be the first to test and punish your force 9 diffs downunder!! broke 1 30 spline chromo and twisted 2 rears so its time to see if your 9's stand up over here!!!!!!!

Re: 4.7s on 35 inch pedes
4.11's match 33's, 4.3 match 35's but 4.3 isn't a gear that you have been able to get with any reasonable ease for a Rover in the past which is why they are run with 35's.matt_w wrote:i got the 4.11's to put under my rangie with 33's, some people say the 4.11's match 33's gearing, others say 35's
