I'll be there! Hopefully will qualify through the Grand Slam Series, also racing the Stampede in Reno so should have a good shot of a confirmed starting position. (if anyone is in the US mid september, this event will be awesome!)
If anyone needs some help organising logistics, happy to help. (Hopefully I can be a bit more organised next year so I'm not so much of a stress head during race week!)
Yep Ill be there. Still waiting to see if a mate is coming or not as this will dictate where ill be flying to.
Bubs are you heading over solo or with others?
Ben ill be calling you shortly mate to pick your brains.
Just found this on the net...it is in Southern California...so LA is the closest international airport...
I am interested in this screen grab from Wikipedia...Maybe the whole place will turn into a shooting range for the Marines...(read on)
Johnson Valley OHV (Off Highway Vehicle) Area is a tract of BLM managed land set aside for recreational use by residents and off-highway enthusiasts. The OHV Area is bordered by Interstate 40 at it's northern-most point, at Highway 247's northern leg to Barstow at it's western border, and at Emerson Dry Lake/US Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center at it's easternmost border. Off-Road Enthusiasts participate in a course known as "The Hammers", a triangular off-road track at Bessemer Mine Road at the southern point of Soggy Lake. Expansion plans of the US Marine Corps AGCC Base plan to annex parts of the Off-Highway Area that threaten to permanently close access to the track.

Motorhome costs based on getting a wicked deal and sharing the costs between 5 people, 7 nights.
Airport Shuttle to motorhome place : $25 (x5)
Motorhome for the week: $449 (x5)
Fuel / LPG: $40 (x5)
Had to pay $50 to pump the poo out half way through the week.
Food: About $180 per person (could have done slightly cheaper, but my Dad did the shopping and we ate very well)
Alcohol: Wellllllll, how long is a piece of string! At least it's cheaper over there.
Any hotels pre or post getting the motorhome.
Some spending money. There is so much over there you will buy something.
I think the boys ended up buying sleeping bags / camp chairs at walmart because the stuff in the motorhome was a bit limited.
If you don't have warm clothes you may need to buy some, or just drink yourself a jacket.
Guys I'm always keen for pit people. As you can imagine it's a pretty huge effort competing on the other side of the world, so any help is appreciated. Next year may be even tougher, as my current co driver, and the guy who built the Bomber (my car) is building a new one. If it is finished, I expect he will race it, so we will have two cars to support. I guess I will also need a new co driver.
I'm hoping the new one is not too much faster than mine, because I blew all my money on this one!
