Roll cage hardware
Hi All,
I am after some saddle, and pin and eye mounts for some additions to my roll cage, similar to the ones on the attatched link.
Does anyone know anywhere over here where I can get some? This is just for some extra protection bars, and I wanted to be able to mount them. My random google-ing hasnt really got me anywhere in Oz.

I can supply you these
Bout $70 bucks each. and I've got some off being tested by Cams, so should be legal for comps too (CCDA is already fine with them)

Re: Roll cage hardware
is that basically a round connector so you can remove and attach certain bars in your system for a comp, and then have less for road driving?? so that your legal on road and really safe off??

Re: Roll cage hardware
WA has already done it, and soon I imagine it'll happen here to but internal cages in cars on the road are on the way out.
Rather than police what is already in the rules they'll do what Western Australia did,
and throw it in the "too hard basket" like most Governments do and put a blanket ban on it
In WA any cage forward of the "B" pillar is not legal on road, and in NSW at least side intrusion bars are not legal on road.
Cams Rules call for any "Join" in a cage to be able to withstand a 6 G lateral impact.
So I went hunting for something that will do that and will be easily removable.

mmmm yes, the government does have a habit of not understanding the auto industry, and that there are alot of people out there trying to do the right thing.

Re: Roll cage hardware
might be a silly question but have you gat any plans for a cover or blank as such to cover the end when the bar is removed and your just left with a potential sharp stub
71 fj40 front shackle reversal +3" , 55 rear springs +3", 35 15.5 claws , 60 diff's 4wheel disc's , SOON TO BE WINDSOR V8 + 5 speed
74 fj40 stock but very clean
84 bj40 3b stock and unloved

Re: Roll cage hardware
For now I've only need to use them to make external cage sections removable, but yeah I can't see why not. Will look into itMrGrim wrote:might be a silly question but have you gat any plans for a cover or blank as such to cover the end when the bar is removed and your just left with a potential sharp stub

Re: Roll cage hardware
bond roll bars near windsor make a neat option in a bunch of angles to suit. They are CAMS compliant and had no issues with them used on cages in CCDA events

Re: Roll cage hardware
May be wrong, but from what I know of the ones Bonds have, they're only to remove individual sections, ie: Stays and side intrusion bars, not whole sections of the cage. that and he usually doesn't want anything to do with a cage unless it's one to his design for Cams Specs in a car. he may however sell just the joins as mentioned.
Might pop up the road and see him when he get's back

Re: Roll cage hardware
he used to sell just the joints, I had him set up a heap of cages back in the day, but at the time we had some pretty good orders so he was happy to helpBlack Bull wrote:May be wrong, but from what I know of the ones Bonds have, they're only to remove individual sections, ie: Stays and side intrusion bars, not whole sections of the cage. that and he usually doesn't want anything to do with a cage unless it's one to his design for Cams Specs in a car. he may however sell just the joins as mentioned.

in terms of using them to remove sections of a cage,, we had them set up so all the peices were connected with these joints so it was a simple excersise to remove the front section of the cage and the stays if needed, the b pillar bar was a little more diffficult but achievable

Re: Roll cage hardware
Oh ok, that makes sense.
Don't quote me as I haven't read the Cams rule book for a few years,
but in most classes new cages have to be of welded steel construction now.
Some of the "Production" classes can have removable ones though I think

the ones you have in for testing look horn though I will prolly use the ones bond do for my exo when I get around to it simply due to the durability in a rock rash sense.
