Dipstick oil extractors

Post by ash_on_mtb »

Had an annoying day this far so I hope you can help...

(Holden 308 ski boat - you can't get to the sump drain bolt without plucking the engine...)

I've got a fynspray sump pump on the front of the engine and I've had gutful of it. I assume its done a seal, as its got absolutely no suction and won't even prime, so I'm over it. It can just sit there, because I know that the first time I try and sort it out, oil is going to go EVERYWHERE. And nobody likes that!

So I know there are vacuum oil extractors available, but I really want to get one that is air operated, not the manual pump jobs. I've found one in the UK, but surely I can get one closer to home?!

anyone seen them around? My mechanic mate has one but he's away this weekend for me to pick his brain...

Thanks.
