Does anyone else have problems with algae growth in their radiator expansion tank?
I've had to change out the fluid in the expansion tank for the second time in about 8 months as the fluid is brownish again. I've checked the radiator and the fluid is still flouro green and there are no bubbles in the coolant so I know it's not a blown head gasket.
Is the coolant meant to inhibit algae growth?

It will be rust scum getting washed out of pockets in the system where at some time in its life the coolant wasnt at the correct strength.
It will happen for a long time.

I would wash out bottle after a few hot runs. "If" it keeps comingt you can purchase cooling system cleaner.
Radiator will prob need cleaning then too.
