hilux v6 q and a's body swap maybe??

Post by badger__rox »

hey guys ive had my 87 hilux 4x4 now for just over 12 months shes a 2.4 turbo diesel. very very slow as im a young hoon sort of driver so im told. any way for the second time ive wrecked the motor but this time it was very much my fault as i left the oil pick up lose when i swaped my sump (i know my mind wasnt on the job) any way i got to the end of the street and she stopped so now i brought another hilux as a donor car it has a v6 commodore engine in it. the owner of it has done a rather good job using all the marks adaptors and everything like that. i basially want to use my body my diffs but the new engine and gear box. im not sure if the engine mounts have had to be moved to fit the v6 in but i know that the gear box and transfer case is out of a v6 four runner. and he had to move the cross member back.

but i was thinking that maybe it would be easier to do a body swap rather then an engine swap? the v6 hilux is a single cab (extra cab) mine is a dual cab. aree the chassis the same.

will the bellhousing fit my diesel gear box?

also any other heads ups or advise.
