ive looked through the bible and googled but nothing really pinpoints my question.
So.. whats the first things to start doing when you want more flex out of a 62 series cruiser?
Its already got 2-3" inch spring lift. thats it in the way of suspension really.
I just want someone to say:
1-
2-
3-
4-
In order from most to least improvement with flex.
I have some idea's like shackles, shockies stuff like that but just need to prioritise them
*yes sway bars are still connected -removing when body lift is installed-(quick release pins are in progress)
Cheers
Thanks for your time

Re: More Flex? simple question
1- Spring over
2- Custom ~60" long flat springs
3- Correct shackle angle
4- Shock setup with 30% up and 70% down travel
5- Drop shackles
6- add some weight to the car but low in the COG
or tear out all the suspension and link it...

Re: More Flex? simple question
or if you dont tow or carry weight, remove the two thickest leafs at the bottom of the packs

Re: More Flex? simple question
Removing the sway bars will make quite a difference on their own. However the body roll in corners might persuade yourself to either leave one end on, or use a quick disconnect system.
Be careful removing leaves. Soften them up too much and they will flatten out and you'll lose your lift. If it's riding smoothinly on the bumps in the road now I'd leave it. If it's a bit harsh try removing some. Many after market leaves are 'heavy duty' because there is an assumption people constantly carry around a lot of weight. It also helps protect their warranties from sag claims.
If you didn't spend the money on the 3 inch leaves, then consider a spring over conversion. That's the best way to get a good ride and flex. It will cost a few g's to do professionally, however It's easy enough to spend that kind of money lifting a coil sprung truck.

The worst part about being told you have Alzheimer's, is that it doesn't just happen once.

Re: More Flex? simple question
Up front try main and wrap leaves from a 75 series pack, they are about 50mm longer in the shackle half than 60 leaves (depends on brand, lift etc though) Combined with a 2'' extended shackle it should improve your flex. I did similar with my FJ73, in these photos the front springs are about 50mm longer than stock. In the rear either get custom length leaves or use 75 series rear leaves and move the chassis mounts to suit. Sway bars and shocks were gone in these photos too.
Depending on what tyres you run you will probably need to cut the guards or something for clearance.
