hi guy, just wondering if u can help. i have a nissan gu patrol cab chassis and my tale shaft is a little loose. and when i drive my rear diff makes a humming sound. 1st and second gear is not too bad but 3rd and 4th and 5th its humms really bad.
any ideas what it could be ?

you have flogged out you diff pinion bearing, rebuild the rear diff or replace with second hand one

Yep, sounds like it, but you'd expect it to be leaking oil aswell.
