Post by howsie »

I remember seeing some kits for a transfer mounted disc setup, but prices are around 1500 which is alot in my books for what it is. Adjusted correctly the standard brake does hold well, but it's good practice to not use it when off roading, when there is a chance of water or mud in the drum.

Another option is line locks in the hydraulic lines. THey work as well as the foot brake, but you still need the normal handbrake functioning for road worthiness, as the law states the emergency/parking brake must actuate differently from the main brake system.

The line lock would be a good idea to hold it on steep hills in the bush, I had been worried about that with the crappy handbrake in my 78 series troopy, thanks for the idea.
