Hydro assist

Post by Z()LTAN »

Well ive drilled and tapped the box, fitted it and tested.

I have the ram plumbed up and laying on the floor.

Am i correct in saying that the ram will only move when the power steering is under load? i.e the ram only moves at the moment if i turn to lock and hold it at lock.

It also drifts a bit when im not touching the wheel, i can stop it by hand though.

?

yep. only gets pressure when the box pressures, and it needs load on it to do that. Drift is indicative of slightly loose box? check the adjustment, again will probably go away once you get the box connected and has steady pressures though. Good luck. Dan

Its all good, hooked all the steering up and put the wheels back on the ground and it moves straight away. It sill drifts out though.

Ill have to see if the drift makes the steering move when the ram is bolted in.

Thanks.
