in a gq patrol using standard shocker mounts, what brand makes the longest shocks possible, and how long actually are they? i am setting up xlink and not sure what shocks to buy or make up new shock mounts?
also.. what are those new flexy coils like.. my car weighs 2.8ton would those flexy coils hold up the weight and flex nice or should i stick to constant load springs?

The high end manufacturers (king/fox/SAW) will do 18-20" travel shocks as std, and custom up to ~24" (1600mm to 1900mm), but you will pay!THE-Burger-Ring wrote: what brand makes the longest shocks possible, and how long actually are they?
You are making you own X link right? so i gather you won't want to spend ~$6000+ on shocks. Plus there is not much point if you are running stock mounting points....
The front of a GQ/GU can only really handle the open length of a 12" OE style shock before you snap the ball joints off the steering link due to too much angularity, and the rear end will want to drive the diff under the truck unless you run longer rear links. So in reality a front 10" travel shock and a rear 12-14" shock is more than what you need.

thanks mate, its nice when people answer the question. i also made up drop boxes and plan to fit 3rds arms.so trying to set it up right.
