HID not working urgent please help
Gday, last week i fitted hid hi/lo kit to my 86 cruiser, that works good but my driveing lights wont come on anymore, on hi beam. What have i done? ps driveing lights are lightforce 240 blitz also converted to hid
Re: HID not working urgent please help
You need to wire in a diode. Toyota vehicles switch earth.
Probably not just the driving lights doing funny things, does the high beam indicator light up on your dash?
IMO get rid of the HID's because it will peeve other drivers and you WILL get flashed a lot -> get a decent loom upgrade with incandescent globes. My personal experience suggests the HID's are over rated.
Besides which, I don't think they are legal for high beam - on road use.
Cheers, D.

Off the top of my head it goes inline with the supply cable to the high beam filament. - You will need to confirm this - an auto elec should be able to confirm.
I once believed that the HID's were the be all and end all for lighting and nobody could tell me any different however, after i got a taste for what they were really like (by spending $700), i went back to high wattage incandescent's with a home grown wiring upgrade with solid state relays.
Try this sight: http://www.lcool.org/technical/80_serie ... iring.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It's for 80 series but you can translate most of that across to a sixty.
Remember, they may be very bright from outside, but it's what you can see from inside that matters.
Cheers, D.
