Post by tye1986 »

hey fellas just researching bout doing up my injector pump . now the company who do them where i live reckon they will put a bigger komatsu plunger in and thats about it he went on about all these other things you can do with cams and springs tensions but reckoned it wasnt worth it that he could tune them jsut as good with out them mods just thought i would see what every one else thought. ohh yeh and they with the bigger plunger in and set up for 20psi would cost between $1500 to $2000 cheers

Where did you get that quote from mate? I asked a couple of places and they didnt seem real keen to do the mod. Im actually doing a course on injector pumps at the moment and asked the teacher about it.. If you could get a hold of the parts its actually not that bigger job if you don't muck around with the governor springs its just a matter of swapping the head (part where the injector lines connect to) 4 bolts and it comes off. there is also a plate that can be put on the advance piston cover to advance the pump timing sooner not sure who makes them but my mate got one from turbo charger repairs. also while the pump is off i believe there is another adjustment that can be made to the governor to increase maximum RPM. I believe some cruisers had a pump that could be used too
