New Comp EOI

Post by MUD000 »

Allright
Trail Track 4x4 club have a proerty about 45 minutes North of Albury & are in the process off talking about running a yearly comp at it. We have already ran Round 2 of the engel series in 2009 with great success. The possibilities are endless for the property & could cater for buggies, comp cars, Tuff trucks, standard cars slightly modded cars etc etc. We are thinking it would be a club based comp with a MAX no of cars being 35-40

Just a sample of what we have to offer. But what I would like to know is how many off you NSW guys would be interested in competing as it could turn out to be a NSW vs VIC comp & what classes would you like to see. As some of you may be aware that comps in VIC on farm land is a no go through government policies so keeping us competeing is getting harder & harder
Post up your thoughts
Cheers Dan

WELL Well well here we have an opertunity to have a comp just outta Albury but more importantly just about in the middle of sydney and melbourne ,which cries out State of origin style 4x4 event, all we need is the type of event the majority wants as this site caterers for nearly every type of offroad dicipline. we have enough contacts to ensure this is covered by national media magazines and posible tv coverage . hope to hear from you all. Cheers Webbie
Lockers or Knockers ,both will make for fun.

I for one would definitely be interseted in an event closer to Sydney, having pulled out of this years OBC and Cliffhanger it would be great to give the Bushie a run in a weekend event.
I know a couple of the older competitors like myself that are hanging out for winch type events closer to Sydney.
Keep us informed re the dates for the next event.
Looking forward to it.

As tuff truck dont require rego and winch challenge cars do, how will you run it with or without rego ???? Have you thought about this yet.

Still in the planning
But my guess would be if there right for Tuff Truck they would be right to enter
The idea is that each type of 4wd will have advantages & disadvantages. We will be runnng a fun weekend early September with a few cars from each state being asked to come so we can try & design the tracks 50-50 so no real advantage weather your running 44's or 37's as the larger cars wont have the speed of the winch trucks & visa versa.
There has always been a bit of rivalery between the Tuff Trucks & Winch Trucks & this will be the place for it. We had our meeting last night & want to get started organising it so we will have the hardest track for the event. The venue is approx 200 A of land & has creeks rocks gullies flat hill climbe rocky hill climes a water fall so we can cater for every type of terrain needed for an event

I'm sure a few cars from ON ALL 4's would be interested. Not sure about the working bee day early in September though as we have our NSW vs QLD on the 11th and 12th. But sounds like a good opportunity to be able to use the truck again.

As for rules we have not or will not go down the full bells and whisles nit picking process sometimes found in other comps, the real objective of this event is to have quality vehicles competing, not quantity. All vehicles will need to meet minimum safety standards of course like harnesses, helmets, roll cages own fire extiguishes blah blah blah. But more of that later. if your vehicle is not well built or has dodgy workman ship it will not be accepted, the same as nearly any legitimate event. As for scutineering we are happy to listen to your comments but this is designed to challenge basically two - three dissimilar vehicles types over the same terrain to show every one the pros and cons of running different set ups, wether it be full Crawlers to Tuff Trucks to winch class Trucks so we have to find common requirement s but still allowing the trucks to compete at their full potential . Speed over a distance cousre will make up for taking more time on a rock wall and purpose designed course will allow teams to decide which path to take the hard road which may be shorter or the long road which may be faster depending on the vehicle. Hopefully from this the it will get people thinking about the potential fun, excitement and ability this comp will bring out in everyone lets hear from you all.Cheers

I'd be keen to come up for this.

I know it's still in the planing stages, but any idea on a date?

The Mav is getting built for Tuff Truck, but i'm going to miss the cut off for next year, so this sounds like it would be an awsome thing to have a go at

At this stage it will be the end of July or the start of August 2011
Once we have our test weekend in September we will organise or insurance & permit then it will be down to the nity grity of organising it
As we are trying to start the event our first one will have the emphisis on drivers rather than spectators. We want it to be an annual event & would like to get it right. I would think we will put a low limit for spectors for the first event
First in best dressed for drivers & spectators 12 from NSW & 12 from Vic
6 cars per team & 4 courses running at once to keep things moving quickly
After talking to our insurance company everyone who enters will need to be a member of a 4x4 club
