Replacing of Engine mounts

Post by sickzuk1 »

Hello all :) I need to replace my engine mounts on my Suzuki Sierra 1991 model. And I was wandering if it is a relatively easy job? And what would be the best way to go about replacing them. I have already bought new mounts and bolts and all I need to do is swap them over. All hints and advice would be great! :) Thankyou everyone in advance
I have a 1991 model Sierra, it has been crashed, thrashed, bashed and rolled, but she will still get me up any damn hill I point her at! And that's why I call her Suzy.

step 1, take real good note of this one as it's super important...

Get off your computer!!!

step 2 inspect old engine mounts and look at new engine mounts in your hand.

step 3, take note of any differences in them and spots to get snagged and skim through your hayes/gregorys manual.

step 4, unbolt the old mounts. Raise the engine using appropriate means and support to prevent losing fingers or worse.

step 5, fit new mounts. lower engine, and tighten any bolts you've touched

step 6, have a quick visual check to make sure you havent pulled any wires/crimped any hoses etc

step 7, Crack a cold one and enjoy

put a VL commo mount in and never have to change it again.

Are they just a straight swap?

Does the extra strength just transfer the stress elsewhere and end up braking transfer mounts? or elsewhere?

Sorry search was useless on this one

just grind a little tag of the vl mount and it is a easy fit. still works like
a rubber mount, just 1000% stronger.

any search in the Suzuki section just returns millions of threads with grimbo telling
people to search. :bad-words:
