Well having the efs team in the line up definately changed my bets on top 3 place getters!

What an awesome line up! Definately some fast drivers and vehicles in amongst the field! Can't wait for next Saturday!

I don't think anyone will beat DBR after their run at the drags in Mackay. Their a shoe in. Bit of a shame for everone else.

Some stats about the track -

Length 6.8kms
Number of laps 37
Min Elevation 11m above sea level
Max Elevation 98m above sea level
Water Crossings 2
Creeks or gullys 9
Hairpins or hard turns 5

Some nice bendy sections that will be hard on the driver as well as some more straighter sections. But nothing is open. The track at it's widest is about 3 cars in width and narrowest is one car in width. Some sections have multiple tracks. Any lapse in concentration and you may suffer with terminal vehicle damage.

Some of the gullies are a bit savage at the bottom and may get worse as the race progresses. Racing lines will develop and get rutted out during the day as well.

This won't be a walk in the park. Even though the track is relativly easy it is definatly a stratergy event as much as it is a speed event. One lapse in concentration and you could be out for any length of time doing major repairs to your vehicle. I believe outright speed will only play a minor role in winning. Driver fitness will definatly be tested as well as being able to stay focused and be consistent.

I agree with Davo, this is going bo be tough on drivers, hehe.

As far as us running a TAB on the race, DBD Events will not enter into this as we don't hold the licences to do this under the gaming commission act.

Very nice work with the track stats guys!! Great to get a bit of Info on what the guys will be up against on race day!!

Can not wait for this event it's going to be great, was talking to my uncle the weather man and he says expect light to moderate showers thurs and fri!! ......... This could make things interesting

G'day all,

Sending out Arm Bands tomorrow - for Teams/Pit Crew & any campers you have - if you have any latecomers - please let me know ASAP!! Tomorrow is the latest for the catering side of things!!

I think it's going to come down to strategy to last the distance! This is going to be tough!

Please remember the gate will be locked Friday night, so if you are going to be late, please let me know!

this will be interesting as there are some very fast cars and driver navy teams from different styles of 4x4 comps and to be thrown on the same track at the same time it is hard to call who will win or whos car will survive the distance .
As for others that should be out there were is the big green meany (billy ) or the cartel boys (josh and dan) or simon wild .
I would have loved to give it a shot but still building for next year .
But all i can say is good luck to all and keap it clean (haha in that dust yer right) and have fun >
last but not least a big well done to all the peaple who helped out the wtc guys to put this event on as there has been a lot of time spent putting in the track and a bit of carnage to from wat i here .

Unfornatly due to work/cartel travel commitments in the last 6 weeks (and just flat out being out of cash and energy after finke) we havent had to much time to do any prepwork on Whitey (ie installing airpumps and filters so we could actually breath during the race) But we will be there on the sidelines cheering the 17 teams on and doing our little bit to help out... Think i offered up some good enough excuses as to why we wont be there racing..... Did i mention scared as well...

Sprungupcruiser if you hit gladstone or stanwell you have gone to far!! haha, but seriously as you come into rocky town from mackay you will have a pub on the left, and then the historic left just down the road from it,
\after you have passed these places you will come to a set of lights where you need to turn left, and this is the highway to yepoon,

travel along this road through the next set of lights and continue on your way to yepoon, a few km's (5km i think?) up this road the comp site will be on the left hand side of the road, as the property's fence line actually runs along the highway,
im pretty sure these are the correct directions, if not i will deny giving any directions at all!!

And please oh please tell me it is still raining so i can give up waterman duties and do a bit of watching
