Hello all,
I am a diesel mechanic and do a lot of call outs usually on highways in my 4x2 d22 navara, as of late i have been finding myself going to a quarry, i want to gain a little bit more ground clearance so i dont get hung up. on the soft sand the car tends to get dig a bit before it moves sometimes it getsstuck.
I was wanting to lift the torsion bar front end !, How reliable would the standard torsion bars be with a lifted vehicle?? + add 2 inch shackles to the rear and bigger tyres when these tyres are shot, was thinking of going around 30" tyres.
Any help would be good.
Oh and if any ne knows or has some tyres and rims they want to get rid of let me know,
Cheers.

lifting a navara
Re: lifting a navara
The std torsion bars will handle the lift easy and you will not have probs with the extended shackles, but being a mechanic you might want to think about upgrading the rear springs for the extra weight you would carry..Dabbott wrote:Hello all,

Re: lifting a navara
i wouldn't bother with shackles. simply add a leaf to the rear springs. that will fix the saggy rear springs navara have and give you 2" lift at the same time.
front torsions are fine.
tires, fit 4x4 rims. stock 4x4 tires are 30-31". not sure on the effect on the gearing. you may have to adjust the steering stops due to the wider tires.
