Anyone ever heard of Uteopia?

Post by bj on roids »

It was a JZA70 Supra twin turbo with a Hilux SR5 tray grafted onto the rear. Horny looking machine built in Queensland 10 years ago.

Would love to see a pic of it or something, as I was trying to tell a mate about it, and he has never heard of it.

Ive seen the car in the flesh just after it was built. It did that Canon Ball Run race many years ago now as well. One of Kates relatives was the builder but Ive only ever spoken to him twice in 15 years. Last time maybe 8 years ago. It was built in a shed out Redland Bay way.

Yeah same, great looking thing. Remember salivating over it before I was 4wd-bug-bitten.

I was thinking about that thing just today. I remember the SM article where the owner said he wanted a vehicle that wouldn't depreciate. So he paid a guy to weld for 200 hrs + to build it and its value now is ?? Awesome ute all the same.

I remember reading about that in SM ages ago. Found a copy of Zoom on ebay that has an article in it. I Know bidding has ended but here is the link http://cars2.ebay.com.au/ZOOM-80-RX7-Pu ... 0251397610. From snooping around on google
it was the cover car for street machine oct/nov 1998 issue.
. We have a member that goes by the name of uteopia here too http://forum.outerlimits4x4.com/memberl ... eb9c40006d I cant find any pics other than that article that was previously posted though

I remember it also, but I have a feeling that I may even have the SM issue with it in. I would however have to go to my parents place & rummage around in the roof to find it ................ not going to happen :finger:
