105 series CV's

Who make a quality aftermarket CV/Axle sets to suit a late model 105 series? Longfields are 7mm to long in the CV length and cutting them void the warranty so I'm not spending the money and not getting thier warranty.

Broke both genuine one's already and that makes 6, 80/105 series genuine cv in the last 3 years between 2 cars. Been using el cheapo 1's with reasonable success 4 the price but wanna bullet proof it as the 105 is our tourer/daily. And 2 yota cv is roughly the same price as longs with axles but they don't fit. Surely there someones who has upgraded them

what are you doing with them that is snapping them.
ive been with 105s and 80s who have done some pretty extreme 4wding and never had cv issues. its not like the 60 series with smaller cvs.

if you are breaking a lot of them, then Longs might be the most economical with or without warranty.

be careful of cheap shit ones, I ended up with a lot of of damage to an axle, spindle etc after blowing a cheapy

Just driving it. Both the 105 one have been done trying to drive up ledges while turning. I know the turning is the problem but sometimes u gotta do it. 80s have been any number of things

Maybe try these with longfield inner axels (dunno if they do stock spline inners though)

Are the inner axels the same as a 80?

Some years ago, when I put longfield cv's in my my hybrid axle (which was 105 from swivel balls out) the stub axle on the 80 series longfield cv was about 3mm too short.

I had to machine that from the drive flanges to get the retaining clips on - apparently spline length was increased from that used with part time 4wd with free wheel hubs.

Are longfield producing another cv (different to their 80 series cv) for the 105 series?

If so can you use the 80 series cv as I did?

Think I've come up with a solution. Using 80series longs which the cv's are 7mm longer than the std 105series yota ones, there seem to be enough room in the end of the free wheel hub to accommodate the extra length but this still allow for alot of float between the circlip and stub axle if just install as is. Is there any reason why a couple of 6-7mm spacer between the circlip and the stub axle wouldn't work? This would still give me the replacement warranty of the longs as there is no modifications/shorting required.

spacer will be fine if it fits in the aisins.

avm hubs run a spacer for the longer cv's.

dont forget to get hub gears as well.
