td42 engine numbers

hey fellas just trying to find out what motor i have in my patrol apparently td42 engine numbers that end in a leter are turbo model engines just curious what other people engine number ends in. mine eng number is td42149688b

Interesting post, I have a GU and will ge the numbers tomorrow. While I'm at it, I'll get numebrs off the two siver top motors that are getting machined as we speak.

Mine starts with tb42 but ends in a 1, its a factory turbo

yeh weird i have a few mates with turbo and no turbo engines seems non turbo engines have no letter at the end accept 1 of them haha and most turbo engines have a t at the end i have know idea what the b is for though.

td42 diesal 98 coil cab

TD42 is 4.2 diesel..
TD42T is factory 4.2 Turbo diesel
TB42 is petrol 4.2

so far i have seen 1 factory turbo with out a t on the end but cant find any one that knows what a b on the end means.

just got my new TD42T motor from nissan today and it ends in C
The TD42 in my patrol ends in 1

so i think you might be right about the leter thing

yeh pretty weird wish i had a straight asnwer other wise i might be changing pistons. ahh well will drive it till it pops.

Give a Nissan Dealer a call they should be able to make sense of it all
The 'B' at the end must stand for 'B'rillant engine

haha yeh i rang nissan and this was there exact words engine numbers mean diderly squat to us hahah so yeh hopfully its a turbo spec motor.
