Who cares if it's a wanted ad or not - it bringz the lolz!

A drive in drive out 1.6 Baleno conversion, in a week, for $1500?

I think some people could spend a week trying to sort the coolant pipes.

Others might spend (at least) a week on the wiring.

What's the plan for the distributor?

VSS speedo? Do you have a Vitara fuel tank as well or does the $1500 include the fitter troubleshooting a fuel system? Airbox? Catalytic converter? Vitara fan?

Seriously dude - this job is way more than $1500 and week away from driving.

$1500? Tell him he's dreaming. With ZERO parts and a basic workshop rate of $80/hr, you're at under 19 hours labour. Good luck finding someone who wants to do it for love.

Another idea might be to offer to do it yourself, but invite members from here or Auszookers to assist on a set weekend. Supply whatever it is you drink up there and a barby, spend the balance on some tools like an engine lifter, multimeter, some chassis stands etc, and get involved in getting the job done, and you can have the satisfaction of knowing how it was done with the help of some experienced guys.

Steve.

steve has a very good idea.

get onto hiluxkiller on here and get your wiring done (around $700)
get a swb vitara fuel tank, a VSS from a vitara or a swift.
get the ben-t kit, a rear main seal, new clutch, oil filter, oil, gasket sealant, some milk crates, new longer accelerator cable, some new efi fuel line, a 1.3 carby swift or barina thermastat cover. You will need a few hoses and pipes for coolant.
The dizzy has a few ways it could be done. but you need to have all the gear either way unless you have a coil pack engine.
once you have all that at your house ready then do exactly what Steve suggested.
rent a engine lift and get it all out yourself on a weeknight and have it ready for a very long weekend with a few mates (new and old) and keep there belly full and the drinks filled.
Goodluck...

I have wired up to engine conversions that used the tank out of a swift gti . These are a very flat tank and filled up most of the back of a 413 . When the guy put it in I thought it would starve on angles etc but it never did . In fact the second time we used it was because the existing tank was starving so we swaped it out and no problems since .

Short answer , it may well be worth using the baleno tank under the tray if its anything like the swift tank .

Cheers

also this engine and tank gets it about 600 k's so it will have quite good range.

You could prob fit the tank under the tray, but the tank is almost as wide as the zook itself so no way is it fitting between teh chassis rails.

Might go longways PJ like the stock trayback tank?

I reckon it would be a funny shape though.

I would do it in a week (or just over depending on the little bits that mess you around) for $1500 as long as you organize the distrib adaptor and bring all the parts.
is it a complete wiring loom? or has it been pulled and bits are missing? im on the sunshine coast..

cheers mark.

The tank that it has in it is giving me problems.. everytime i turn right fuel pisses out of the fuel filler.. i looked under and the guy that sold me the car has played around with it and ran the tube straight back and across.. looks like the baleno tank will be easy to fab mounts up for and get it in there. then i wont have to worry about pumps and everything.
