Repairing aluminium tray

I went 4bying the other day and left my rear ladder rack on because I was just to lazy to take it off. The end result was that I hooked it on a tree and it bent backwards, ripping the corner of my tray. Its only pushed the bit of the tray down and luckily enough it is only on one of the aluminium strips. My question is then, where can you get replacement strips of aluminium as it would only need the damaged one to be taken out and replaced.

What brand is the tray?

I have in the past bought other damaged trays from wreckers very cheap to get panels from them to repair others (some wreckers will sell you seperate panels if they have a damaged tray and you pull it out yourself). Biggest PITA is if its a Tripple M tray they come appart from the headboard not the tailight end. So to replace the end panel you need to remove all of the panels.

Right, so that's the damage that was done. Luckily it's only on one strip. It's not the best shot but that trying to shoot down between some stuff in the tray. It has probably bent down 5mm or so.

The camera finally died so I'll have to borrow the old man's when I see him in a few days but I found a sticker on it for Bocar in Sydney.

Can you just put a plate over it?

I don't really want to put a plate over it as it is where I mount my rear ladder rack, meaning that it will be on a lean, although not a very big one. Plus we tried to bend it back up into shape and because of the tear on it, I won't.

mate if you find out who made it or you can give me some meausrements of the panel im in back and forth between mackay and rocky every week so if its the right one i can bring it down for you. next time im in mackay i'll find out what make mine is

It's made by Bocar but they don't make any parts for it any more. From what I can tell, the panel is 1840 x 175mm.

I have some spare panels for my alloy tray, from when I took a couple out to shorten the tray, Ill have a look today and measure them up, and Ill let you know.

Dude, get a local welder to just patch it up, bash it flat and run a bead over it. Easy as!
