AORC RND 5 - Gundy 400

Post by digsy »

THE DECIDER!

Goondiwindi 400
Australian Offroad Racing Championship Round 5
Penciled in for the 16th October 2010

This is it!
Last year it all came down to this race!
Rentch and Fellows were litterally seconds apart coming into the final pass, with throttles held wide and expectations high the final run down Melapunya run for the top cars of AORC was simply breath taking!
There was no throttle, suspension or energy left for a exhausted Rentch as he clinched the win at Gundy 2009!
Expect a similarly hotly contested battle as Hayden has already proven that there are many many teams hungry for this years No. 1 plate!

Also there will be a large contingent of Class 8 competitors focused on dominating a track that dominated them last year! Many of the top teams had to load their vehicles on the trailer prematurely at 2009 Gundy after a merciless track took their toll on their race vehicles!
It is a brilliant track with many vantage points for the eager punter! The harder you look the more you are rewarded, however the main spectator mound definately holds the crowning jewel of the Round with Melapunya run front and center and this year causing the demise of none other than the Zacka crew from Kings Aust. Their Jackaroo teaching some of the harsh QLD scrub a lesson that the Jackaroo won't soon forget! However despite their demise, their legend status was well and truely forged forever as they proceeded to enjoy a cold ale on the spectator mound and share stories that got better with age!!! True legends of the sport!

Anyway, anyone that has ever been to a Gundy will tell you that your MAD if you don't go!!! So get organised and if your in QLD or North NSW get your gear together and head to Gundy!

The Gundy Star caravan park will be the place to be! You'll see and hear us there! It's gonna be another AWESOME weekend of Offroad Racing wrapping up with the official AORC presentation dinner (last year at the Gundy RSL)

See you there!

It's official!!!
I can tell you that the Gundy is going to be packed full of cheering, crazy CQ dirtsports fanatics!

With CQ now laying claim to a Class 4 Chev you can be sure that weare going to be headed south on a mission!
There's million dollar race machinery to drool over, and $2000 beaters to steal brilliant ideas off of!
There's awesome spectator viewing down Melapunya run! But be prepared for the smell ofdust and race fuel in your nostrils as your practically IN the pits at Gundy!!

If the battle for the title was anything like last years expect to see 240km+ loonacy! And with a full feild of Class 4's ready to hit the melon holes to test their 36 inch +++ suspension you know it's gonna be a battle royal!!

Gallard is expected to be at Gundy and if he's 2nd overall at Finke is anything to go by he's out for buggy blood!

Another truck to watch will be the Class 8 of Hunter. Hopefully it will be all sorted come rnd 5 and will be in the hunt for 1st overall!! Go the 4Bs!!!

Your mad if you don't get to this event to see just how fast these madmen hit 4 foot woops!!

Still tossing up if I should have a crack at the 400 which will be pretty harsh on the vehicle, or spectate either way it will be a great weekend. Last year was awesome watching the big buggies and trucks taking out everything in their path quite easily makes me think "What the hell am I messing with 4wds for.''
