g series auto, f series motor
g series auto, f series motor
Im chasing a 3 cylinder with an auto for a project.
I have found a couple f5a motors from early hatches but all with manuals. I have also found a swift 3 cylinder auto.(a g10a motor I think) Will these two bolt together? I doubt it being a f series motor a g series box but you never know
Cheers Rhett

Re: g series auto, f series motor
No they wont but no reason you could not make a adaptor.. why not use the g10 and auto?
Its been a while but from memory the f10a is 3 cyl and the g10a is 4.
cheers mark.

Re: g series auto, f series motor
I have just sold two G10a turbo engines , 3cyl engines , fatcory 80 hp . Would have made a great light buggy engine but no room to store them . The good thing about the g10a is it is indeed a g13 with one less pot , ie all the other parts are the same , pistons oil/water pump etc . Easier to get bits for than a f8 engine . And the auto etc is just a g13 auto out of a barina or swift .
Also I found out the Alto has a F8b block which the guy that took my two g10a's said were 3 cyl as well . I only knew of the f8 in the lj80 etc and is a 4 cyl .
Late model g10a's turn up here often but may be hard to find over there

Re: g series auto, f series motor
Suzuki Made Several Variants of the G10 Motor
G10 - found in early swifts 3cyl, identical to the swift G13 but missing a cylinder, has the same bolt pattern as a G13 and most things are interchangeable (except inlet and exhaust manifolds for obvious reasons)
G10 - Found in the Type 3 Swifts, Still 3cyl and everything else is the same as the earlier G10 but they run a different cylinder head that uses SOHC with hyd buckets under the cam (same lifters as in the GTi's)
G10 - This ones a little rarer, it's found in the suzuki Alto and it's basically a de-stroked G13 4 Cyl which makes this a really popular engine with the Litre class speedway Boys, As they use this Motor and Fit a Twin Cam GTi Cylnder head to this G10 bottom end and that makes one rev happy engine !!! if you have ever seen the old Red "Ballistic" WT sierra from One Stop Suzi Shop back in the day, This was running a 4Cyl G10 with a GTi Twin Cam Head, Big Cams and Twin Side Draft Carbs, wilst it didn't make massive power it made massive Rev's !!!! it was common for this engine to rev past 10'000RPM !!!! (Had to me seen to be believed !)
