Hey guys
Does anyone out there know what the best weight oil and amount is best for 18inch race runners. Im are to rective, flops over to easy. Have been told to fit the heaviest shock oil i can get but ????

help would be great

i used Dexron3 trans oil in mine.
worked lots better

Are you using the same amount of oil at standard, as im thinking of using 10weight instead of 7wgt, and adding about 15-20mm more oil in them...Dextron will be cheaper as i have shit loads of that ....endless supply

im using dextron in my racejackers aswell. Seems to work alright so far.
D22 Navara....hydro coilovers, hydro steer, 42's...

Im running 20 weight in my foxys. It made the handling a lot better.
Its a wheelbase thing

my fronts have the std amount for a 16" (240ml ish)

rears have more...
std was 240ml, i went to 350/400ml just to give it an internal bumpstop..

Is this advise from the manufacture? I wonder what sort of peak pressures you would be putting on the Nitrogen by overfilling the shocks with oil?

Luke if you go to the link above and download the PDF, you will see the maxium amounts of oil allowed before hydraulic locking the shock. Also pressure wise 3000psi or 200bar is allowed before blowing seals out.

He mentioned adding more oil to add an internal bumpstop. I presumed he meant hydro locking the shock just before the end of the shaft compression?

If he meant adding more oil to ramp up the spring rate so as to not bottom out so easily then that is different to an internal bumpstop?

I'm confused?
