Injected Gas on a 4.8 Tapping

Hey,

I have injected gas on my 4.8 (03 GU3) (was on it when i brought it), and I never noticed it when test driving or actually until i drove 8 hours home that when on gas the injectors are so loud with a tapping noise.

I took it to see a gas guy and his like, nar thats normal.

This may be a silly question, but how loud is injector tapping on your setup. Can you hear it in the car over the radio, or only when the radio is off?

I'll get a video when i get home..

Just really wondering if its the same for everyone.

There are different brands and types of LPG injectors, they are typically louder than petrol injectors. Rubber mounting the injectors can help as the noise does transmit if they are hard mounted to the engine or manifold.

My friends TB48 injected gas is quite loud if your outside the car. Sounds like something is wrong, he was advised this is normal. It is not noticable from inside with the windows up. They are mounted on small rubber blocks.

We have a 4.8 with injected sprint gas and that is noisy outside the car too. Inside driving it you don't notice it. I was far from impressed when i picked it up and they told me the same yarn, injectors tapping they all do it...
