there are 2 easy wires i can think of 1 is the altenator warning light wire and also the posative for the coil if you use either of these or for that matter any under the hood use a relay

There is also an ingnition wire on the back of the windscreen wiper motor. A lot of people use this as a signal wire for dual battery systems.

It may be easier to get at. Thought the power to the WSW would be controlled by the WSW switch inside the cab.

Re: 60 Series: Ignition power lead under Bonnet
I had a relay hooked up to one of the wires on the voltage reg. I'm not sure if this was the cause, but A few voltage regs failed prematurely - I no longer have it hooked up this way and no dramas since - I have replaced the alternator in this time, though.
The wire on the back of the wipers will be accessory, not 'engine running'.

There is definantly a wire on the wipers that is ignition, (as my 60s the wipers only work when the ignition on). Wiper motor is fed from both the stalk on the steering wheel and from constant ingition, that way when you turn the wipers off when they are half way through their motion they still return home.

My mistake I thought the op wanted a signal for 'engine running' as opposed to ignition.
