Hi,
Got gq with tb42e in it and has a loud ticking sound like dry lifters?? Is this a common problem and what is the best solution??

And yes it has oil... and does not get hot ect. Any help would be awesome

tb42 are adjustable valves sounds like you just need them adjusted pretty easy job.
think it's 14thou hot, 8 thou cold

0.38mm really hot, intake and exhaust.
-Pre trip inspections/ servicing

My 2F yota engine made that sound .. was 6 broken rings

Yep, adjust your rockers and you'll be sweet. Make sure you do it hot with the hot settings or it'll run rough and lead to a burnt out valve or two. PITA cos of the heat but gets the best results.
Don't take life too seriously...it isn't permanent.
