school me on tubes
hey guys, got a mate who has 2 almost brand new mickey t claws with small side wall rips. someone told me you can run tubes inside them to hold air??? and can i take tubes into the bush to use instead carrying to spares. obviously id need bead breakers etc. any help info would be a great help. where could i get them on the mornington peninsula?? the tyre size is 33x12.5x 15rim. thanks
Re: school me on tubes
Simex do make a tyre tube that is stronger and thicker than most others on the market.
HOWEVER.. If the side wall of the tyre is damaged right through then the tube alone will NOT be enough to make using the tyre a sensible option. Ultimately you'll need to get the sidewall vulcanised (which does render it unroadworthy and is not legal) which can only be done at specialised places, usually truck tyre places. I know there is one in footscray? area but the name escapes me..
Hope this helps
