td42 low power and flutter

Post by PSI 08 »

GQ td42 denco turbo kit, 1/2 a turn on the fuel pump...

I was trying to get up s steep hill holding about 3000rpm then when i gave

it a bit more trottle it just died with like a small flutter and a small amount of smoke..

never does this on the street. i had 3/4 of a tank of fuel.

my bro tried the same hill and had the exact problem in his partol (almost the

same setup)...

could this be a fuel pump issue or more of a hill issue??

Do you run a pyro or boost gauge? If so, what sort of readings were you getting when the problem arose?

pyro does not get hot at all due to the 15 sec of throttle and boost drops off due to the flutter/miss

What are the readings though (boost and EGT)?

Have you checked all of your piping on the pressure side of the turbo, incase there's a dodgy fitting leaking boost pressure?

Check your intake hoses aren't collapsing. A coil of wire up the guts of them will fix it if they are.
