rear trailing arm issue

does anyone else with GQ wagons have any trouble with there passenger rear trailing arm bush that keeps flogging out, makes mine all over the road when on off the gas

How often is " Keeps flogging out"

They normally last a few years unless you do the bolt up without full load on the arm.

Stupid question, but do you have any lift? If so, do you have adjustable panhards to suit?

only lasts a month or two, im on my fourth one and just been dealing with it. its got 4 inch lift with standard panhards though, but three of my mates have the same and they dont have trouble. i have a 5 litre in it so i just put it down to the extra torque, but im sure the 4.2 turbo boys make more torque the the v8 does

I had the exact same issue - 4-5" lift, standard panhards. Kept flogging out the passenger side front bush. I got adjustable panhards and haven't had any issues yet. I put it down to the excessive side-load put on the bushed from the diff being so far out of alignment.

Prior to fitting them i'd always come how with one clean side of the car, and one dirty side. It also made my tyres sit inside the flares, which was the biggest issue for me. Flex is no different, but at least i know that everything is where its supposed to be, and like i said, i haven't had to replace any of the rear bushes (upper or lower).

I think it is mainly panhard related, but just check you have the arm in the right way. I have seen nissan rear trailing arms installed with the bush orientation wrong and it obviously loads up the bush heaps.

Yep check this, the ends are slightly angled from centreline looking along the longitudinal axis.

Mine has 4" lift and the originals are still in after 240,000kms. Adjustable panhards have only been in for about 30000kms of that
