Hilux ln65 bullbar options

Post by jamesezekiel »

Hi all i have an ln65 im slowly getting together what i would like to do with it is either fit a style winch bar like the arb type winch capable or build a tube bar also winch capable any ideas about pros and cons of what others have found with either. May sound stupid but i just would like to put it out there because arb bars are so expensive even at trade.

Building your own tube bar would be alot cheaper than shelling out at an ARB or TJM store.
Before you decide on what design to use, do a search through the members section. There are some really well made tube bars in there.
From memory, Buds Customs(Bubs off here) makes and sells the winch cradle plates. I cant remember the exact name for them right now, but the most important piece of any tube style winch bar.
Have a look through. do lots of research and talk to people that have made their own.
Then you will know what you want.
Theirs heaps of people on this forum that do custom barwork, do a search and youll find answers to many questions.
Good luck.

Depends on what you want from your car. If you want to run spot lights, aerials and side bars off it i would go the ARB winch bar.
I have that on my runner and Ive modded it as well to suit my 65mm bodylift.
Its a very strong bar and is worth the money. I had a Toyota non winch bullbar and it was sh*t, thinner metal and the hoops of the bullbar are lower.
I may be getting rid of my bar and going full exo roll cage soon.
