No not unless you wanted to redesign the manifold so it could take a sidedraught carby. They are a much better carby compared to the 1.3's carb.

If you can weld alloy I guess it could be pretty easy to do as the poms do it quite often but put su carbs from minis on there. I'm not convinced a 1litre carb would be big enough for it as the 1.3 carbs aren't really big enough to start with. Try a carb off a 3k or 4k corolla they bolt straight on to the 1.3 manifold and IMO are a better carb. Have a search theres heaps of threads on alternate carbs as it is hard to get a 1.3 carb to stay in good nick.

No Balenos are carbs..

The g10a carbs fit. 1L, but swap the jets from your 1.3 carb.

I have also heard the charades fit.

if ya sick of the stock sierra carby then have a look for a Vitara carby, Corolla carby or if you want extra go and dont do alot of water crossings then a weber.

Corolla carby is the easiest to do and will perform better than stock on road. offroad there is little or no difference. Its a direct bolt on and has hardly any vac lines to fuss about with. its only down side is it needs a manual choke. but thats easy to do.

one thing i forgot...You need to grind 2 small spots on the spacer plate that goes between the manifold and corolla carby so the carby vac ports do their thing. . Ill try to find one in the garage to show you where to grind.

Hey B4T

Is the corolla carb from the 4K engine the one?

3k or 4k will work. The 3k is a manual choke and off the 1.2L and 4k of the later 1.3. They use the same jets as the zook so you can mix and match if you want to play with the tuning. From memory I think the corolla jets were bigger than the sierras but it was awhile since I played with them.

Apparently if you rotate the 4k carb so the fuel bowl is to the firewall, they are great on angles.

I am waiting to see where to grind so the 4k fits my 1.3 BTW...

if you can get a photo of the lower plate and the base of the carbie.. im sure someone can noob cad it for you..

I might actually have pics of a 4k around.. will have to search the photo bin. Will edit them in if I find..

another vote for the 4k carb here thou.... manual choke, and being able to accelerate without the need to be hercules is awesome! Havnt had an idle issue in the last 3 weeks! :D

edit: No luck on an under side image unfortunatly..(id post em up but i KNOW I'v posted em previously.. so why clog the board huh..
edit 2: see this link for a written description of where you will need to grind.. http://auszookers.com/index.php?name=Fo ... ic&t=14220" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

if your going a 4k carb.. dont forget to get the cable bracket as the zookie one wont work!! ;)

AFAICT I think its the webbers that can be turned around to run backwards for better angles. not the k's..

Been to many wreckers? Old carby corollas are everywhere! There was about 6 in the wreckers I went too and got a good running carb for about $30-40.
