Re: Will this winch be good enough for dual cab lux
its big enough to get your hilux out of trouble. And a winch block will quickly turn it into 19,000 lb's of pull which will drag you out of pretty much anything, or snap the cable trying.
the quality and longevity is the unknown part.

Re: Will this winch be good enough for dual cab lux
Thats the whole idea of the block. Double line pull = twice the breaking strain. You won't break the cable but it will take twice the time to get out.

Re: Will this winch be good enough for dual cab lux
I'm in two minds with winches... On one hand, I have a $1700 warn hanging off the front of my truck that i would use 1-2 times a year, and that's generally not to get the truck out of trouble.
HOWEVER,
I have a $53,000 4wd hanging off the back of that Warn, and I know (cos its maintained and checked regularly) that i can rely on the warn to not fail and destroy my truck if i use it to its capacity. I dont know whether i could put the same trust in a $360 winch from supercheap.

Re: Will this winch be good enough for dual cab lux
Well put Ferrit....
It only has to fail once in a bad position (when do we ever use them in other places) to be money wrongly spent......
I spent more than $360 on my rope for that exact reason....
If you do buy it, piss of the $2 solenoids it came with and put a tigerz11 one in, that will be one major spot of failure fixed...
Best of luck.....

Re: Will this winch be good enough for dual cab lux
I think maintenance is the biggest point here in both cases. If you keep the chinese winch maintained, and check it regularly, it will probably never let you down mechanically. Cruzinboozn makes a good point about the solenoid which would remove any doubts with the electrical side aswell.ferrit wrote:I'm in two minds with winches... A poorly maintained winch is a failure waiting to happen. Be it a Warn or a chinese cheapy.
