Hi every one i m having a Mitsubishi short wheel based pajero.
I m using it as my personal vehicle as well as my sport vehicle. I m in to off roading and Rally's.
But as it's my personal vehicle i m facing a small problem. It is not comfortable enough for the road.
So i thought of making its rear coil springs with disc brakes instead of its Rear leaf springs. So i just need your ideas about this..

Hello, and welcome to Outers.
I think your problem is that your rear spring is broken! The shackle has "inverted", so it no longer swings like it should, so your leaf pack doesn't flex like it should. That's why your main leaf has that bend towards the end - it's not supposed to be there.
You need to replace your leaf pack, and find a solution to prevent the shackle inverting again. I'm not an expert on this, but if you post in the General Tech section you should get some good advice.
And you'll confuse people here if you continue to refer to your Pajero as a "jeep" - we have Jeep jeeps in Australia too.

Edit 2: I see from another post that you knew it was broken...
Im with Scott on this one, I looked at the second pic and almost fell off my chair, that spring is not looking healthy at all, which is most likely, the main problem.
Replace your rear springs, maybe even your shackles, possibly your rear shocks and you should be ok.

Most people here don't really do that kind of mod to a paj, probably due
to it not really being an ideal base strength wise for what we do and also the availability and price
of later coil models. That said, plenty of people have done coil swaps on other vehicles mainly set up fo flex (Im assuming not your priority) but I imagine a 5 link set similar to Toyota and Nissan set ups would suit your needs, basically parrelell upper and lower links each side and a panhard, decent progresive rate coils out of something similar in weight or custom and a monotube shock with remotes given the speed stuff I assume you do based on the pic

hasithawatha, the last years of production of your model Pajero were available with a coil rear suspension. (not sure about disc brakes) It was a radius arm design, but it would be a improvement over your leaf set up.
I'm not sure if the LWB V6 pajero was available where you are, but that was the model with coil rear suspension here.
I would be trying to find one of these at a wrecker. It would still be a lot of work to fit, but al least it will be close to fitting. Of course, welding and fabricating will be required - it won't be a bolt in job.

I couldn't find any photos of the suspension arrangement.

Thanks Steve & brooksy for the great information..
Steve i was able to locate the model you said and i found a differential with all the components (Swing arms, Coils, Disk brakes) for a cheap price.
And as you said steve the components of that model fits my pajero. Any how I now only have a dough about the wheel base as my pajero is short wheel base.
No matter what happens myself and three of my friends are going to start work tomorrow to make MY RIDE coil suspension.. We hope to post our success in near future.
