lol im running 31's on sierra stock rims... drop em down to 10psi then let more out(my guage doesnt read any less than 10) soim prob running between 6-8psi...
i have never rolled a rim off a tyre

i have reduction gears so i have no choice but to go in high range. just keep the revs up over 4,000 and u should be sweet...

i have a 1999 Vitara with the G16B engine.Mostly run high range and about 15psi when going through soft dunes and never had a problem. Though i have done the very occasional low range to get through a real soft spot.
done a few fraser trips travelling at 80+km/h both in high and 2wd while fully loaded for a weeks supply for 2 people (cant see out the back window with a 100ltr esky and the roof cage also loaded to the hilt)

only difference from stock is its running 215 BF all terrains and extractors and exhaust. just dont be affraid to let her sing.

i'd be running lower psi in the tyres, start at about 15 and go down to 10. drop it to 7 or 8 if you get bogged.

what revs are you changing gears at? you might be dropping below the sweet spot for the engine

In LR, I'd be guesing around 4500 when I am working it a bit harder, normally probalbly 4000. I haven't been on the beach for almost a year so it's hard to remember, but I know on the street I change at 4000 at the very latest (hills etc) and remember I worked it a lot harder on the beach...so maybe it was 5000.

In HR, I would only be guessing as I didn't have much success, again I would say around 4000-5000

Its a 4 banger mate.... You need to let it rev a little harder. With the extractors let it go up to 5000 to 5500 on the soft stuff. As already said lower your PSI. I have gone as low as 6psi on a thick side walled 31" But regularly run 10psi on soft roader A/Ts.
