What ya recon this is worth ? 93 Lux Dual cab, with big end rattle in 2.8 diesel. Safari turbo, k&n filter, snorkle, long range tank, Air lockers front and rear, Warn M8000 winch, rock slider bars, arb bull bar, arb rear step tow bar, arb fiberglass flares, rotronics dual battery system, custom one piece t/shaft, Snake racing solid molly tie rod, canopy, draw system, water tanks with elec pump, 32" bfg muds, 2in ome spring lift.

well if you wanna sell the dual battery kit let me know :D.
Seriously there is a decent list of mods there. get another lux, stock standard and swap all the goodies over then sell the old one for 1k or fix it up.

Keeping the Lux now, and doing a full engine rebuild [cause i like the diesel]. Over the next 12 months I will tend to some other issues it has and i will continue to play hard [cause this is what luxes of this vintage are all they are good for]

No it is not for sale, no I am not parting it out, and yes I am going to have a shit load of fun instead. :finger:

since you have spent the coin with all the mods a rebuilt diesel is worth doing.
if you have the basic mechanical skills it is quiet easy to do the engine, just remove engine, engine crane $250, sell it afterwards if you don't need it, cheaper than hiring twice.
strip engine down, take cleaned bottom end to engine reconditioner, nice easy job for them, prob about the $1500 mark, bore hone pistons ring crank grind, bearings etc. Head prob $400 for overhaul, Gasket kit $250, belt kit and idlers, $200 , inj pump reco $700, should be a good old rig for under $3k rebuild.
Any q re 2.8 bits or info from manual or any 2.8 diesel parts, I have wrecked out heaps of them, plus have bottom ends etc, just call me Tony 0419733837

PMFSL.... ok this is where i'm at with it. Remove box, drop on my arm, no biggie, 4 hrs to undo flywheel, heat rattle gun on and on, breaker bar on it it a long bar out from under the truck stand on it to crack em. All the cooling system out , pump , pullys, timing gear, manifolds, turbo, injector plumbing ect ect, Go to get the timing gear off the crank.... 3 broken pulers, heat bash , and a cold chisel 6 hrs later split it off the crank. Now i was going to do it all my self and get the crank ground but have decided to give em the shorrt motor to rebuild.
Will get it reringed and flex honed and get the crank ground ect. Head was all new 50000km ago so should be right as were the injectors and pump done then too.
So getting the injector pump off today it's ready to be pulled with the crane, but i hurt my back so will have to leave it a few days now.

Easy... No ,.... but i do need a crank timing gear.... Do you have one you can supply me ?
