I was talking to some random today that saw a few pictures of my build, He started telling me a few years ago he build a sand rail using a Balino engine and he used a VSS out of a swifty dash insert????
Is that correct? I know the Balino and Vitara can be swoped around and I know there area a few guys out there that have figured out how to not need one but. I didn't even know the swiftys had a VSS in the dash. All honesty I am one of those people that if I haven't seen it or heard about it from a person I trust I question it.
Let me know if any of you have done or seen this.
Secondly let me know what crazy things you all have come up with. I know Timmy (blue suzy) has a crazy hybrid vitara/balino/alian/rocket/sierra/?????? dash that works any others out there?

Not the norm VSS question
Re: Not the norm VSS question
Swift vss are meant to be "around", but at the time i was looking for one, i couldnt find 1 in at least 10 cars at pnp.
So i went with a vit one. There should be 2 at pnp, well last time i was there(1mth ago)
Only the baleno tacho will work with your twin coil motor, otherwise aftermarket, or wiring mods to the sierra one(have seen, but unsure where)
My cluster is Baleno speedo/tacho faces, vit vss, baleno tacho internals, in a 1.3 tacho sierra cluster. original speedo cable. Hybrid eh?

Re: Not the norm VSS question
early gti had them, though they were not hooked up! they will fit a sierra cluster. later swifts had them but they are not a bolt in fit.

Re: Not the norm VSS question
Tim can you get one for me??? I know you have the hook up I am actualy selling off my motor to some one up in Qld. I was selling it with a vss but I have lost the one I had so I need one to give this guy. The reason for the swifty question is I know where a few are that are just rusting away but nun of them are GTIs so thats a no go :(BlueSuzy wrote:Swift vss are meant to be "around", but at the time i was looking for one, i couldnt find 1 in at least 10 cars at pnp.

Re: Not the norm VSS question
All the wiring diagrams I have here for swift autos say they have one , so maybe the auto's have them and not the manuals .
