Transfer case

Post by Joey's Jinker II »

Fella's, I've got a G52 transfer case in my toyota, I want to put lower gears in it so I can crawl over rocks better.
I spoken to marks4wd and they want $1600 for a gearset ,is this my only option or is there an alternitive.

Why not go with a Dual Case Adapter then just run 2 stock transfers?

Ok im now aware this is actually in a Bundy so dual cases are not realy an option.

If it were my rig i would prob swap in a complete Hilux 5spd and transfer then buy a gearset to suit this. At least you have more options here. There is also the rear disconect case soon to be available from Marlin.
Then you have another problem. The rear diff centre is offset. Tailshaft will prob be ok but for me it wouldnt be such a problem if it needed more attention. I would use a Wide Track Hilux IFS rear housing and just cut the brackets off the bundy housing and fit this.
