Does any one know what exact gearbox came behind the 2l te in a 91 surf?
looking at buying one for a 1uzfe manual conversion in a lux.
Would like to know so as to compare ratios and see if it suits, any help would be great.

My guess would be R150F, but could be either R150F or R151F both are 23 spline shaft.
Only difference is R150F has 1st gear of 3.83 and R151F has 1st gear ratio of 4.31.
2nd gear - 2.740
3rd gear - 1.930
4th gear - 1.000
5th gear - 0.830
Reverse - 4.230

Oh ok then, it's a start. The lad that has this box says it was a 2.4 turbo diesel, but thats all he can tell me. Are the boxes serial stamp or something that tells you what exact trans it is or just a case of turn the shaft and compare ratios?

If he still has the Surf, will be on the silver ID plate 5th line down I think first set of letter/numbers next to the axle ratio code of G###
