A mate of mine just gave me a brand new 5 point harness still in box unused.
he said he couldnt use it for speedway as it was out of date. How do i stand running this belt in our style of comps.
cheers

Re: Harness Dates
Check with your comp organiser...
i know CAMS recently (last 12 months or so) reviewed the "Expiry" dates for FIA approved harnesses, believe they are still reviewing the American standard ones.

Re: Racing Harness Dates
I have the same thing, a mate of mine from work gave me 2 sets of harnesses that he used in his sprint car that he can no longer use due to over 12mths. 3" RPM's 5 points. He has about 5 other sets that I can have.
I haven't got mine for comp purposes but just safety for the harder wheeling.
I am actually waiting for this seasons harness to get off him as that will make 4 sets as he had only 1 other black harness plus the current one he is using. The others are blue & red. I wanted to match all 4.

As far as TTC is concerned yes you can. The ruling in motorsports such as speedway is there for the purpose of keeping on top of safety due to the mass events run each year, not to mention the speed & close proximatey of other vehicles.

Re: Racing Harness Dates
And to add to what Brooksy said,
Being such a close form of open wheel racing, the chances of rollovers at speed is extremely high, and the forces put on the harnesses they use is far greater than what we would in an event such as Tuff Truck.
