Hey guys,

So its possible i may have possibly blown my gearbox up due to it having a bad leak. Ithas been off the road for the past month and need to rebuild the gearbox.

Here goes the bombshell! I have no idea how to rebuild the things and no idea what i will need, I was just wondering if its possible that i only need the gears as it makes a grinding sound in 1, 2, 3, 5 4th is the only it doesnt make a bad sound!

I am hoping that someone here can help e as i have less then 6 weeks to rebuiold and register my car! Please someone help im in a big pickle!

sound like your in a pickle.

I think you will need a new gear box, might be cheaper that way.

you'll need at a guess, gears, bearing ,syncros, and a coupla gaskets.
pretty easy job if you lay it out on the ground as, you pull it out.
just take you time. If the gear box is out you may as well put a new clutch in it to.

I have a gear box but due to distance it might make it a bit of a killer. and it is not perfect, has a 5th gear bearing noise at 100kms

you have some major bad luck.

Last sunday i chucked out 3 boxes

1 i rebuilt then blew up 5th,but all else was good
1 was still a runner but needed a build
1 was in parts.

having been there and done that, dont waste your time. cost me around a grand for bearings and genuine gaskets.

wait for one to pop up on ebay or buy a complete car like i did for 500.

i doubt you can rebuild one, I sure as wouldnt do it again.
